KOTA SAMARAHAN: The D-Virtual Park here will be added to the list of tourism packages in Sarawak, says Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
He said the first-ever virtual theme park in Borneo would be able to attract visitors, especially esports enthusiasts.
“If we look at this era now, youths are mostly into video games and e-sports.
“Since D-Virtual Park is close to Kuching city, the park can be included as one of the tourism packages offered to visitors — locals or even from outside of Sarawak.”
He said this after attending the launching ceremony of D-Virtual Park, Jalan Meranek here officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on Monday (Oct 12).
Abdul Karim, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, further said that some people might find the location to be quite a distance, however, he guaranteed that with the services and facilities offered, it would be “worth it”.
“If the place has only one or two games, then maybe you can say that it is not that good, but on the contrary, they are offering a wide range of product services and facilities.
“I believe visitors, especially families, will enjoy their time coming to this place since they get to participate in the virtual games available.”
He also congratulated Serba Dinamik Group Berhad for coming up with the park.
